She picked up braiding at a very early age, receiving her first training from her mother, Karen Fox, who was a braider and a hair model for The Braider's Bible by Cassandra Rachel. At 14, she began working in a braiding salon, assisting Chantel Dudue, former owner of Labelle African Braids. Coincidently, this same salon ended up being the very first location of The Braid Bar. This is where she perfected her craft and began learning various hair care and braiding techniques from African countries like the Congo, Togo, Senegal, and the Ivory Coast. She took this knowledge and started renting a booth at 16 years old at Beauty Town, formerly located Downtown Oakland. Here at BBB Rika is our lead stylist and she specalizes in braiding and extentions. She also does crochet, loc maintenance, and feed in style

Nikky is from Lagos, Nigeria. She is our inside cornrow braiding and twist specialist. She has over 15 years experience and uses various traditional Nigerian braiding techniques. She has been part of team BBB for 4 years.
